CLONE EXEMPTION APPLICATION
The usage of clones (multiple IRC sessions from the same host) is prohibited on ChatNet. Users running more than 4 clones are automatically akilled by OperServ. However, the usage of clones is often needed for specific groups of users (local area networks in schools, internet cafes etc.) and channels (bot loaning channels). For this, we created the clone exemption application where users can apply for a clone exemption. A hostname added to the OperServ exemption list will not be akilled upon exceeding the 4 clone limit. They will however be akilled if they go over the set clone limit you get the exemption for.
Before you proceed at the application section make sure you know what kind of host you are using. There are two kinds of hosts, the dynamic and static. Dynamic hosts change every time you connect to the internet and it would be pointless to apply for a clone exemption. A static host never changes. We now allow ONLY static hosts to add exemptions.
