Resolution 5 - Official
Removal of an Opercom member
Passed: June 8, 1999
Passed by cadmin
If a member of the opercom committee is becoming a burden for the following
reasons:
They are absent from IRC, and or aren't responding to any oper-com mail for a period of 14
days.
They do not participate in any voting for a period of 30 days.
They are starting disputes with other members of oper-com constantly, for reasons they
don't specify or disclose, or even have no relevance.
They are passing oper-com email to other Operators and or Administrators illegally.
(Illegally is defined in this case as, without the permission of the other oper-com
members).
They are using arguments in favor of the dissolution of the oper-com committee to the
operators and/or cadmin.
Removal of an O:Line is automatic dismissal (except in the case of a delinking of server
due to a JUPE or the admin choosing to delink, then the OPER-COM member has 7 days to be
reinstated with an O: line on another server on the ChatNet.Org network.)
A majority CADMIN vote has the right to remove a member for any reason they see fit.
The member is given an opportunity to offer an explanation if there are any
charges being disputed. They have 48 hours to email the list with their defense,
and/or reasons for their behavior. The voting starts after the 48-hour period, not
beforehand in this case.
The procedure for removal is:
Out of the 7 members, there is one that will be removed. 6 remain. There must be 5
YES votes to have them removed. 3 or 4, is not enough. This will be posted to
cadmin@list.chatnet.org, opers@lists.chatnet.org, admin@lists.chatnet.org.
