Channel manager tutorial

2. Init channel
When your channel has been approved you will be sent a message that holds a special line that is similar to:
' /msg k9 initchan #Channel G]G8mph_ '

When you type this line K9 will join the channel and be automaticly oped by the server. And you will be added as level 500, which is the level of the Channel manager. If you were in the channel when K9 joined we really recommend you to part and then rejoin the channel so that k9 gets a chance to see you when you enter. He has a tendency to only guard the gate and listen for his master and he doesnt know you that well yet.

Now you need to set your password that you will have to use when you auth. To do this you simply type:
' /msg k9@k9.chatnet.org setpass <#channel> <password you want here> '
Example: If you want the password "k9iscool" in the channel #newchannel you should type:
' /msg k9@k9.chatnet.org setpass #newchannel k9iscool '

Now when you have your password set you should auth with him. ( This is similar to screaming to him the first time to let him know there is a new master in town. And dont worry he has a bit of a hearing problem so you wont hurt him. ) You auth like this:
' /msg k9@k9.chatnet.org auth <#channel> <your password> '

Whenever your disconnect and then rejoin the channel and/or K9 is disconnected for whatever reason or you are both caught in a netsplit you will have to reauth with him to be able to use the higher commands. ( It is similar to letting him smell your hand so that he knows that you are really the one you say you are. )
