You have reached the ChatNet Development and Routing Committee. This is the site where new servers are linked as well as network design and development for the ChatNet Internet Relay Chat network are documented. This site is constantly being updated to post as much information as is available regarding the linking of servers, and the current state of the ChatNet IRCD daemon and its accompanying services. IRCD and services development is a never diminishing task. For this reason, the ChatNet Routing Committee has restructured itself to fit more idiosyncratically with the development committee. To this end, the IRCD is being driven to support the IT infrastructure of ChatNet. This means that we are always reviewing ways to support our current server base as well as any new acquisitions. The members of the ChatNet Development and Routing committee currently are wearing two hats. Each member is not only maintaining the status of servers, the review of servers, the auditing of current servers, and the addition and recruitment of new servers, but each is assigned a task that deals directly with our role in the development of the ChatNet IRC Network fabric. This has created a much more sympathetic environment for development than was held in the past. The following is a brief explanation of the ChatNet Development & Routing Committee
Because of the additional work that is being handled by the Development and Routing Committee, we will be making additions to the Routing Staff throughout the calendar year. Positions on the routing committee are restricted to ChatNet Staff. If you are ChatNet Staff and are interested, please send an email to the routing committee and explain why you think you would be a good addition. Please remember that recruitment is our lowest priority. Please do not continually ask about your application when you apply, or it will be properly filed. Members are added on an as needed basis, and must be voted on unanimously by the entire committee.
