Our rules

To have K9 in your Channel isn't a right it's a privilege!
And if you don't follow the rules set by Cservice it may
be removed from your channel without prior notice.

General Rules:

  • New Rules as of 1/30/00 :
  • Channel owners are only allowed to have one ident. CService members will NOT addmask an owner with a different ident other than the one used with previously added masks.
  • Channel owners will not be addmasked to be able to use their K9 access on multiple computers. This includes being addmasked to use your k9 in Cyber-cafe's, or even at a friends house.
  • Only one channel master (level 500) per channel.
  • Effective 3/11/00 at 9:00pm PST
We now allow channel owners to have more than one channel. (You may have up to 3 channels but you can only have one request pending at a time) We will also allow free e-mails for the channel owner ONLY.
You will still need 5 paid for e-mails and no more then 3 free ones for supporters.

K9 will now leave a channel in which the CHANNEL MASTER has not AUTH'd in 45 days so YOU MUST AUTH or your channel will be DELETED!
  • Channel Service will only addmask channel managers (level 500) all other addmasks are the responsibility of the channel master and 400+ level channel ops.

master, before addmask will be done.

K9 can be removed if these are not followed..

  • Using K9 to mass advestise or mass invite people.
  • Complete loss of control of channel.
  • Having an unacceptable topic ie. advertising, having foul language etc.

Your request for K9 will be rejected if:

New Rule as of 1/30/00 :

  • Generic idents are no longer being accepted from channel masters when applying for channels. Some of these are: mirc, pirch, user, ident, v2000, ircap, Klavye4.0, or any other ident that automatically comes with a script or IRC Client.
  • You have submited more than three registration requests. The approval committee will then automatically reject all the requests.
  • The channel you have submitted is either a "vulgar-type sex-channel" or a "warez-channel".***Note: We are not accepting anymore sex channels at the moment***. The Channel registration service doesn't support those types of channels. They are allowed to stay on ChatNet but not registered on K9. Hence any channel found to be one of the channels mentioned will have K9 removed from it.
  • We follow ChatNet's channel naming policy which states:
    • Channel names must NOT contain non-ASCII and special ASCII characters, more specifically characters like: Tabs, spaces, Alt-0151, etc...
    • Channel names must NOT start with non alpha numeric characters (e.g. #!!!, #@@@, #_____, #!Hio etc..)
  • Abuse of K9 in any way will not be tolerated ie having him part/join the channel several times in a row etc.
  • Using K9 to mass advestise or mass invite people.
  • Complete loss of control of channel.
  • Having an unacceptable topic ie. advertising, having foul language etc.

Disclaimer:
