Verdict: Guilty

On July 13, we recieved a complaint against ChatNet IRC

>About: i was in #CANADA this morning (australian time).. as i have been
almost every day for the past couple weeks.. as i joined this morning, some
guy with the nick of Z was sending an auto dcc called overnuke.exe for
which he was later kicked.. i was talking to some friend about it, next
thing i know im being kicked from channel followed up with a message from
^Arianna saying "stop trying to send viruses to people". as you can
imagine, i wondered what the hell was going on, so i rejoined again, only
to be kicked again by ^Arianna.. i joined again, messaged her and asked her
why i keep getting this message from her and ask her what is going on.. she
does not answer me, next thing i know, im being k lined with no
explanation.. i contacted a friend of mine and asked her to go into channel
in my defence and find out what had happened.. she talked to a couple
people in their that i know, and ^Arianna agreed to lift the ban.. i
rejoined, asked why, was told that i had some sort of file that had a virus
attached.. asked them how they knew, they said (^Arianna and Blurobin) that
they could see it.. and i had to clean and come back.. did a scan, nothing
came up, i wanted to know if it is fair to k line somebody first then ask
questions later?? nobody seemed to be apologetic.. i later went to #help
and spoke to Viol8r and asked him to check; he could find nothing
attached... basically, i want to know if it is chatnet policy to k line
people first and ask questions later?? my point is, if i didnt have a
friend to ask questions for me, how could i have ever been able to defend
myself for doing nothing?? i was going to go back to ^Arianna and ask her..
but i figure her having the position that she does on chatnet, it wouldnt ta

We recieved logs and information from the user and the accused
referencing this complaint and offering evidence on their behalf. Upon
investigation into the matter and subsequent voting, we have found ^Arianna
guilty of the following charges:
- Removing an innocent user from the network multiple times.
- The actions resulting caused the channel ops to mistake for the user for
someone who proliferates trojan horses.
- Failure to apologize for the errant actions, defending the actions with
nonexistent policy.
It is the decision of the ChatNet Oper Committee that as a result
of
this complaint, the accused operator must send a letter apologizing for her
actions to the user and cc it to opercom within the next three days.
